According to Head of Moscow Metro Dmitry Gaev, about 100,000 underground passengers pay for trips by bank cards. He said that the cost of one trip by card is the same as the price of a ticket for one trip. But if cardholder pays for trips 60 times per month, the difference in price is compensated for him.

“At first passengers could pay for trips by only Bank of Moscow cards, but in 2008 six more banks joined the project. Currently we have new applications of 8 financial institutions”, Mr. Gaev said.
