Central Bank of Russia: Russian Banks Underestimate Importance of Information Security

According to Vice-chairman of Central Bankof Russian Federation Michael Senatorov, losses of 1,000 larges companies in the world from industrial espionage amounted to USD45 billion in 2007.  Mr. Senatorov said that currently 40% top managers of Russian banks and companies underestimate importance of information security and don’t control their databases.  “50% of Russian banks don’t have information security experts” – the deputy head of the Central Bank Main Information Protection and Security Directorate Andrey Kurilo said.
