In the first half of the year the volume of remittances to Moldova has decreased

According to the National Bank of Moldova, in the first half of 2009, the volume of remittances made by individuals in the Republic of Moldova, has decreased by 31.8 percent as against of the same period of 2008, and has hardly totaled $515 million. The volume of remittances made using international systems has decreased by 32.1 percent and has totaled $419.9 million.
In the first half of 2009 the maximum volume of remittances into the country was observed in June – $109.7 million, including $90.3 through the payment systems, and the minimum volume in January – $64.3 million, including $51.1 million through the payment systems.
