Lending volume in Armenia has reduced by 15.5%
According to the Armenia Credit Reporting Agency (ACRA), Armenian banks’ and loan companies’ volume of lending in the period of January – September, 2009, has reduced by 15.5% as against of the same period of 2008 – up to 398 billion drams ($1.06 billion). Thus just during the third quarter of 2009 we could observe a 88.3% growth on this parameter.
As of October 1, 2009, ACRA had information about 2.4 million paid credits and 605,000 operating credits.
At present, there are 26 loan companies in the country, 4 of which are leasing ones, 21 – universal loan companies and 1 – credit union.
