In 2005-206 the situation with the real estate in Estonia had the following specific feature: it was actively used as a mechanism for increasing of the credit weight. Thus, according to the Bank of Estonia, by the end of June, 2007, total volume of credit and leasing portfolios of the country’s banks and their branches amounted to 232 billion Estonian krones (EEK), which is 42% up compared to the same period in 2006.
