Since 2010, two new ID-documents will replaced passports of Armenian citizens. One of the documents – ID-card, will be used locally, and the second document – biometric passport, will be used for traveling abroad. Chip of electronic passport will contain digital images of fingerprints and photo of passport owner. Cost of new passport will be about 1 thousand drahms (3 US dollars).
