80% of Russian Internet users have bought something in online-shop just once

In October, 2009, PricewaterhouseCoopers in October, 2009 has hold an online-research, having questioned more than 2,000 respondents in 11 Russian cities with over million inhabitants, to discover the basic trends in the consumer behaviour of Internet users.

26% of respondents are ready to have social media to be their basic source of the information about special offerings, discounts and novelties of merchants and manufacturers.

The poll also has discovered, that Russian consumers are ready to buy goods and services online: about 80% of respondents have confirmed that they’ve bought something in Internet shop just once. Results of the research show that only 20% of buyers pay for online-purchases by their payment cards. The majority of respondents (59%) prefer to pay for purchases by cash, and almost 50% of respondents use ecash for that.
