Russian postal bank can be created within 5 years. During this time all 42,000 Russian Post offices should be re-equipped as bank offices to render financial services.
According to Russian Post’s director general Alexander Kiselyov in post offices you’d be able to open a deposit or get a credit as well as to make bank remittances.
Alexander Kiselyov has not specified, how much money is required to re-equip all post offices to provide financial service, however, he has informed, referring to Vladimir Dmitriev, Head of Vnesheconombank, that in the first stage of setting up a postal bank it is required not less than 30 billion roubles. According to the Head of Russian Post, this project will be financed from the federal budget.
