BelCard payment system has published its short results of 2009. Following the results of 2009 the number of BelCard cards has exceeded 1.68 million. Belarusbank is the largest issuer of BelCard cards –52.4% of all cards issued within the payment system.
The shares of other banks, BelCard-M card issuers, are as follows:
• BPS-BANK – 26.1%;
• Belagroprombank – 14.2%;
• Belinvestbank – 6.9%;
• Other banks – less than 1%.
In December, 2009 Priorbank has become the ninth bank, certified in the BelCard system, and has got the right to issue and acquire magnetic stripe BelCard cards.
