Company J'son & Partners Consulting has published its new market research on social networks in Russia, Eastern Europe and CIS.
In Russia social Internet projects Vkontakte.ru and MoiMir@Mail.ru with monthly audience of 17.7 million and 15.6 million users, respectively, as of the end of 2009 are the leaders. In CIS the leadership is taken by Russian social networks Odnoklassniki.ru, Vkontakte.ru and MoiMir@Mail.ru. The latter has the largest base of users in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova; Livejournal.com is leading in Belarus and Ukraine, and Odnoklassniki.ru – in Armenia. All CIS countries have their own national social networks, but none of them can become as popular as Russian networks.
At present in Russia there are 25 million users of social networks, that is comparable with the total number of users of social networks in other countries of Eastern Europe taken together. According to the forecast of J’son & Partners Consulting, the average increase of the number of social networks users till 2014 in Russia will be about 23% per annum, and it enables Russia to be called a fast–growing and perspective market of social networks.
