The National Agency for Financial Studies (NAFI) undertook a survey on the recognition of different banks: spontaneous name recognition and recognition with a prompt.
The first place is shared by Sberbank (86%) and VTB 24 (26%). The ratings of Russian Standard Bank that had the third place 6 months ago now dropped from 17% in April 2009 to 10% in May 2010. Now the third best known bank is Alfa-Bank (12%).
The most recognized banking brands are the same for almost 3 years. Sberbank of Russia is the leader, 99% recognition. Then comes VTB 24 (68%), the third one is Russian Standard Bank (60%). Sberbank’s recognition remained unchanged since April 2009, but for the other two banks this characteristic changes differently: recognition of VTB 24 is growing and the position of Russian Standard Bank is slightly declined.
The survey was held in May 2010. 1600 respondents were interviewed at 140 sampling points in 42 regions of Russia. The sampling error does not exceed 3.4%.
