Russian payment system Zolotaya Korona summarized
the results of its activity for 6 months. As of June 1 total number of Zolotaya
Korona cards issued in the system exceeded 26 mln. Cards turnover reached 241 bln
rubles. Total number of transactions in the system during the first 6 months
was more than 280 mln rubles.
According
to the results of the first half year the network of ATMs that accept Zolotaya
Korona cards expanded by 24% in comparison to the same period of 2009; the
number of terminals grew by 6%. The number of Zolotaya Korona cards as of June
1, 2009 reached 6.8 mln.
There
were issued more than 1.2 mln “Sender’s cards” used to transfer money within
the system. The turnover of money send in Zolotaya Korona system in the first
six months of 2010 exceeded USD 1.2 bln.
