The
government of Ukrainestarted implementation of a project Electronic student ID. Within this project on
the 1st of September institutions of higher education should issue IDs
integrated with a payment card. The National Bank of Ukraine believes that within the
year the banks – members of the National system of mass e-payments (NSMEP) will
issue about 460 thousand of these cards.
Using
these cards the students will be able to get benefits they are entitled to, for
example discounts for train tickets.
As of
today there are 52 banks – members of NSMEP.
