Moscow Industrial Bank finished certification of issue of contactless cards MasterCard PayPass in MasterCard payment system and became the first issuer of PayPass cards in Russia.
Contactless card MasterCard PayPass makes payments for purchases quick and simple. It also can be used at the merchants that don’t have contactless terminals.
The bank’s employees will be the first to test the card. In the nearest future they will be able to pay with it in the bank’s diners.
Besides the standard package of services (payments and cash withdrawals) these cards can also be used as:
• Student’s ID;
• Dormitory access card;
• Payment tool at the diners;
• Electronic library card;
• Еlectronic student's record book.
Till the end of this year there will be 15 thousand MasterCard PayPass cards issued within the frames of this program.
In 2011 the bank is going to issue 100 thousand contactless cards. This high issue level should be reached by introducing contactless cards in a number of regional universities.
Besides the campus cards the bank is going to implement a number of joint projects with fast-food restaurants. Transport projects are the other priority way of application of these cards. The bank is also going to introduce loyalty programs on the basis of contactless cards.
