The company Rostelekom used its service centers as the basis for establishing regional certification centers to issue electronic digital signatures (ECP) and account activation codes for the united portal of state and municipal services (www.gosuslugi.ru) in nine major cities of the Northwestern Federal District.
Certification centers were launched in St. Petersburg, Archangelsk, Veliky Novgorod, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Petrozavodsk, Pskov and Syktyvkar. In the nearest future regional certification centers will be opened on Naryan-Mar (Nenets Autonomous Area), Vorkuta (Komi Republic) and Ukhta (Komi Republic).
Before it took up to two weeks go get activation codes by a registered mail via the Russian Post. Now any Russian citizen can spend several minutes at any certification center to get account activation code or electronic digital signature, complete registration and start getting e-services of various federal, regional and municipal state institutions.
Personal account activation codes can be provided to the RF citizens for free, regardless of their registration address. To get the codes faster a user should register at the portal gosuslugi.ru before visiting the center and to choose the option «Get the code at Rostelekom certification center» during the registration. Activation code will be used by the citizen once, to confirm registration at the united portal of state and municipal services.
