By the end of 2008 Barclaycard plans to issue 1 million contactless credit cards in the UK. Clients of the affiliated company of British Barclays Bank are 10.1 million credit cardholders. The company also plans to increase the number of the retailers equipped with OneTouch contactless terminals from 4 000 up to 20 000 by the end of the year.
