Ukraine: the number of mortgage lending banks has decreased
From the beginning of the economic crisis Ukrainian banks have increased the cost of secondary housing mortgage loans for individuals. Analytical resource Maanimo.com has conducted a research for 101 banks, and it has shown, that from December, 4, 2009 till July, 27, 2009 the annual average rate on loans in grivnas in this segment has grown from 22.1% to 22.4% and the maximum rate – from 29% to 40%.
And, the mortgage lending market, as a whole, has changed greatly as well. The research of Maanimo.com has shown a decrease – from 9 to 6 mortgage lending banks and from 17 to 10 programs, from December till July. As of July, 27, 2009, five Ukrainian banks has offered individuals mortgage loans up to 360 months, four banks – up to 300 months and three banks – up to 240.
