The international money transfer system UNIStream signed a partnership agreement with Credit-Standard Bank (Tashkent, Uzbekistan). Its terms envision development of the transfer system’s network of service points through the bank branches, which are present in the largest cities of the Republic: Samarkand, Каttаkurgan, Fergana and Kokand. Management of UNIStream believes, that strengthening of its positions in Uzbekistan will give an important impetus not only to local business, but all over Central Asia, because now 70 % of the demand for money transfers is formed by labor migrants from the given region. So, in July-September, 2008, the volume of UNIStream transfers in Uzbekistan reached 281 million US dollars, a 97 % growth in comparison with the similar period of 2007. In January-September the turnover amounted to 603 million dollars, which is more than in all of 2007.
