Standard and Poor's (S&P) rating agency has recognized its mistakes in the system of evaluation of the companies’ debt instruments. S&P made this statement, when the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) finished its investigation of the rating agencies. The market participants accused the agencies of an incorrect evaluation of risks, which resulted in an overestimation of the mortgage bonds and a financial crisis.
