Mobile Penetration Reached 134% in Russia

According to J'son & Partners, the quantity of SIM cards that were registered in Russia grown to 189.9 million in January, 2009. As a whole across the Russian Federation mobile penetration totaled 134%, and in the Moscow licence zone amounted to 184%.

The cumulative monthly increase of subscribers reached 2.4 million (1.3%) in January, 2009. MTS share in the general users’ base of the country has made 35%, VympelCom – 25%, MegaFone – 23%, other mobile operators – 17%.
