Ukrainian banks reduced total volume of granted credits both for individuals and corporate clients. The main reason of negative dynamics is absence of trust to the government.
From January to March, 2009, the total volume of credits for individuals and corporate clients reduced by UAH37 billion (USD7 billion), that amounts to 5.8% of the total credit portfolio.
Credit portfolio of corporate clients totaled UAH384.2 billion (USD73.8 billion), individuals – UAH250.5 billion (USD48.1 billion) in 2008. But on April, 1, 2009, loans for companies reduced by 6.06%, for population – by 5.6%, and amounted to UAH361.5 billion (USD69.4 billion) and UAH235.9 billion (USD45.3 billion) respectively.
