According to Central Bank of the Russian Federation, turnover of
individuals’ cross-border
transactions in Russia grew by 30% to USD51.9 billion in 2008. Money
transfers in favor of individuals in Russia amounted to USD10.8
billion, individuals’ transfers from Russia reached USD41.1 billion.
The share of individuals-residents’ transfers in total volume of
transferred abroad money amounted to 62% and increased from USD18.5
billion in 2007 to USD25.6 billion
in 2008.
In 2008 Russian citizens transferred USD8.5 billion to their accounts at foreign banks.
