According to Central Bank of the
Russian Federation, the total number of active financial institutions in
Russia reduced from 1,108 to 1,087 since January to May, 2009. Among them there are 1,039 banks and 48 non-banking financial institutions.
Totally 1,203 financial institutions were registered by Bank of Russia as at June 1, 2009, compared with 1,228 institutions as at January 1, 2009. Among them there were 1,151 banks and 52 non-banking financial institutions as at June 1, 2009.
