According to Nikolay Melnikov, Deputy Head of the Federal Tax Service (FTS), FTS has suggested Sberbank of Russia to provide its customers with a “service of instant payment of taxes”. As he said, the bank could receive the information on due taxes of its customers who had concluded the agreement on automatic paying taxes off from the account. Getting these data the bank will transfer money from its customer’s account to the budget and notify him about it by an SMS.
FTS intends to sign the agreement with Sberbank of Russia in the first quarter of 2010. Vitaly Kolesnikov, Head of Department of the Federal Tax Service, thinks, that this service should be for customers free of charge.
