Technical requirements

Requirements to the layout of promotional materials to be placed in PLUS journal

Page size:

Letter Format: before edge trimming 225.9x289.4 mm; after edge trimming 215.9x279.4 mm (i. e. edged format 216x280 mm, through, 5 mm from each side);
It is not recommended to place elements of the layout (text, drawing or line) extending beyond the after-trimming module frontiers closer than 10 mm to the edge.

Raster graphics

Raster graphics is processed in Adobe Photoshop 8.0:
Resolution � 225-300 dpi;
Color palette CMYK;
File formats - Photoshop EPS, TIFF;
JPEG-compression is inadmissible, LZW-compression is undesirable.

Vector graphics

Vector graphics is processed in Adobe Illustrator 8.0:
While transmitted, all the applicable fonts should be transformed into curves.
File format - Illustrator EPS.

Macintosh:

QuarkXpress + fonts+printout
EPS + fonts + raster drawings in separate files+ printout

PC:

EPS (font in curves) + raster drawings in separate files + printout
The layout should be complemented with its test printout.

• Promotional materials should be in electronic format only!
• The layout of the advertising module is provided on CD or e-mail/FTP.

Advertising banner

Physical size of a file:

• Its width should not exceed 240 px.
• Its height should not exceed 340 px.

File format: swf
Size of a file: not more than 50 Kb.

Requirement:
A file should contain a reference activated by the left key of a mouse and referring to the web-address of the advertised resource.

Banner of an exhibition / conference / seminar

Physical size of a file:

• Its width should not exceed 203 pixels.
• Its height should not exceed 65 pixels.

File format: gif

Other requirements:
� Resolution of the resulting file should be 72px/inch.
