Alfa-Bank's clients holding Mastercard cards can now withdraw and deposit cash at ATMs using “Pay” mobile payment services .

Alfa-Bank is the first in the world to implement such project. The new service is to start supporting cards of other payment systems later this year.

According to Alfa-Bank Media Office, to enjoy the new opportunity all the client has to do is tap a smartphone with a Mastercard card uploaded into a “Pay”m- service, on an ATM. The service can also work with any other “Pay”-compatible devices (for example, smartwatch) with Mastercard cards uploaded.

If the app stores several cards, the cash will be withdrawn from or deposited to the card set by default. This default setting can be changed in-app if necessary.

As the PLUSworld.ru Portal is credibly informed, the ATMs support all three m-payment services operating in Russia - Android Pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay.

So far, 300 Alfa-Bank’s ATMs all over Russia has been equipped with this technology, and the Bank intends to equip 700 more ATMs and to introduce another 400 new devices supporting this functionality later this year.

BPC Banking Technologies Company supported the project technologically. The first withdrawal and deposit transaction took place in the test mode in early May.

“Alfa-Bank is committed to ensuring that our clients be the first to enjoy the best technological solutions. While the users are increasingly switching their operations to mobile devices and have already had positive experience in quick and secure purchases through contactless services, we decided to give them the opportunity to use their smartphones or smartwatches to withdraw and deposit cash at ATMs.” — commented Maxim Dareshin, Head of Self-Service Systems Development at Alfa-Bank.
