Mamarizo Nurmuratov appointed new central bank chairman

Mamarizo Nurmuratov was born in 1960 in the Samarkand region. In 1977 he entered the Tashkent Institute of National Economy, and in 1982 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Economics and Finance.

In 1982-1985 he was teaching at the Tashkent Institute of National Economy. In 1985-1988 he was a post-graduate student at the Moscow Financial Institute and earned PhD in Economics.

From 1989 to 1993 he was associate professor at the Tashkent Institute of National Economy and the Tashkent Financial Institute. In 1993 he began his work in the system of the Central Bank holding positions of the director of the scientific research center, deputy board chairman, first deputy chairman of the Central Bank.

In 2000-2004, he held the position of Minister of Finance. In 2004-2006 he was the head of the Samarkand region. In 2006-2017, he was an adviser to the chairman of the Central Bank.

In June 2017, upon recommendation of the President, Mamarizo Nurmuratov, former Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms of the Senate of Oliy Majlis, was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank.
