The central bank allowed banks to sell foreign currency in cash from April 18 to September 9. The permission only applies to the foreign currency received by the banks’ cash desks starting from April 9, 2022.

Besides, citizens who had opened foreign currency accounts or deposits before March 9 and who have not yet withdrawn the established limit for receiving cash currency from their accounts were allowed to receive not only dollars, but also euros in cash from April 11.

The total limit of $10,000 remains in effect for withdrawing foreign currency from citizens' accounts. The central bank noted that citizens can still receive money from foreign currency accounts in rubles in excess of the limit throughout the effective period of the temporary procedure for foreign currency cash transactions. The conversion is carried out at the rate of the bank, but the amount issued cannot be less than the amount calculated using the official rate of the Central Bank on the day of issue.
