RBC has already got familiar with the concept of the Ministry of Finance for the regulation of cryptocurrencies in Russia, as well as with the Ministry’s letter to Russia’s Government Deputy Chairman Dmitry Chernyshenko. According to the Bank of Russia’s press office, the official document from the Ministry of Finance has not received by the Bank of Russia yet. Meanwhile, the position of the Central Bank in regard to the regulation of cryptocurrencies is reflected in its advisory report.

The Bank of Russia already outlined its position on the cryptocurrency market in the Russian Federation, the PLUSworld.ru portal reported. “In our opinion, the best option would be a ban on cryptocurrency mining,” stated Elizaveta Danilova, Director of the Financial Stability Department of the Bank of Russia, presenting the advisory report at an online press conference a week ago.

“The Ministry of Finance is deeply involved in the development of legislative initiatives insofar it concerns regulating this market. We have prepared a concept of regulation currently discussed in the Ministry of Finance, and now it has been sent to the government. We have seen no decision on this concept yet, the government has not unveiled their official position, but nevertheless, the direction of our activity is like that,” said Ivan Chebeskov, Director of the Financial Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance the other day.
