Russia and Turkey agreed on settlements in national currencies

283096.jpgThe Finance Ministries of Russia and Turkey signed an agreement on settlements and payments in national currencies.

The agreement was signed on October 4 by ministers Anton Siluanov and Berat Albayrak.

As noted, the initiative aims to expand and strengthen interbank cooperation, as well as ensure uninterrupted payments between businesses of the two countries.

The agreement also provides for the further expansion of the Mir card acceptance infrastructure in Turkey and getting banks and companies connected to the Russian version of SWIFT.
