Thailand works towards connecting Mir card
“Thailand and Russia are working on a project to launch the Russian Mir card in Thailand, given the high demand from Russian tourists, especially in the most popular destinations such as Samui, Pattaya and Phuket,” Wongsinsawat said.
The ambassador noted, however, some delays in the implementation of this project that take place against the backdrop of the current situation and certain financial constraints. “Despite this, Thai and Russian service providers, to the best of our knowledge, are holding joint consultations to find alternative solutions under the circumstances. We hope that the bilateral system of fast payments will go live soon and help increase the volume of trade in goods and services between the two countries,” Wongsinsawat said.
