This is just one of the comparisons proposed by the participants of the session “GenAI in Real Business. How to Implement It Today and What to Prepare for Tomorrow”, which became one of the most resonant at GigaConf 2025.

The session was moderated by Sergey Krylov, VP for Tech Business Development, Sber.

Alexander Sidorov, Head of Data Science, Wildberries and Russ, noted that today AI helps the company's staff implement a number of basic functions, including preparing product cards and translating them into many languages, consulting customers to name but a few.

Ivan Ivanov, Head of Digital Transformation Strategy, Alfa-Bank, considered how AI facilitates the personalization of generated content and offers – one of the most significant changes in the banking sector.

Mikhail Neverov, Head of Artificial Intelligence Development, X5 Tech, compared the widespread adoption of AI with the advent of electricity in the economy and business. He spoke in detail about the implementation of AI technologies in existing business processes, including logistics and personalized business communications.

“The greatest magic of AI is that the entry threshold is very low,” the speaker noted.

In turn, Andrey Rybintsev, Chief Data Officer, Avito, suggested comparing the current situation with regard to AI “with the transition to mobile." As an example, he cited Avito's GenAI-based product “Three Quick Answers”.

Viktor Tarnavsky, Director forArtificial Intelligence, T-Bank, emphasized that AI technologies have a basic similarity with mobile and electrification, which lies in the fact that it is very important not to lag behind in their implementation, or better yet, to be among the first to do that.

At the same time, according to him, generative AI “is not about optimization, but about accelerating business processes and development by orders of magnitude, which allows you to pass rivals on a curve."
