The terms of the deal were approved by the Government Commission on Monitoring Foreign Investment in Russia, according to a joint press release from Interros and Rosbank. The transaction is to be closed within a few weeks after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals.

Rosbank will remain a privileged partner of Societe Generale in Russia, the report emphasizes.

“Interros intends to make every effort to develop Rosbank's business, considering the integration of digital technologies and products into traditional banking services as a priority,” said Interros President Vladimir Potanin. “The most important goal of Interros is to maintain the stability of Rosbank and create new opportunities for its clients and partners. We intend to manage the bank's business up to the best standards and practices. We are confident that the professional team of Rosbank is able to cope with any challenges and ensure sustainable development for the bank.”

Interros, one of the largest Russian investment companies, was founded in 1990 by Vladimir Potanin. Since then, the company has implemented more than 25 investment projects in almost all sectors of the domestic economy. Interros' investment portfolio includes assets in the metallurgy and mining industry (Nornickel, Bystrinskaya GRK), development and tourism (Rosa Khutor resort), and pharmaceuticals (Petrovax Pharm).
