On April 7, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved measures to expand the ATM network and changes in the procedure for paying pensions and benefits, the spot.uz portal reports.

The People's Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Central Bank were instructed to increase the coverage of the population with ATMs. To do this, 1,800 devices will be imported to Uzbekistan by October 1. They will be installed in the regions, including remote areas.

In addition, Halyk Bank is to develop a new mobile application by the end of the year to allow remote management of pensions and benefits and to ensure provision of public services by the Ministry of Justice.

From May 1, 2022, all types of welfare will be delivered along with pensions and benefits - until the 5th day of each month. This includes unemployment benefits, scholarships, funds for families included in the “welfare lists” and recently released prisoners.

The funds will be delivered by field cash desks of the People's Bank. Also, the field cash desks will provide cash withdrawals from the cards of recipients of pensions and benefits at their request. The state will pay the bank for its work 1% of the amount of pensions and benefits paid.

An extra amount of 1% will be paid to the recipients of pensions and benefits from the Pension Fund, as well as child benefits and welfare to low-income families.
