The Supervisory Board agreed to relieve him of his position effective June 1, 2022, after which Lev will continue to work with Sber as a consultant and will also become President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the e-commerce holding company that Sber is creating/establishing.

In the period until June 1, 2022 blocks, divisions and subsidiaries that are currently supervised by Lev Khasis will be transferred to the supervision of Alexander Vedyakhin and Kirill Tsarev, First Deputy Chairmen of the Executive Board, and other members of the Executive Board, or will be placed under the direct supervision of Herman Gref, the President and Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank.

Lev Khasis joined Sberbank in 2013 as First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board and has made a significant contribution to its development since then. Under his leadership, major projects were implemented to transform Sberbank in the areas of technological transformation, centralization of operational and service functions, increasing the efficiency of business processes, development of competencies in cybersecurity, marketing, communications and implementation of Sber's strategy in foreign markets.

“Lev Khasis is one of the leaders who configured the Sberbank we know today as a modern company with a diversified business model. Lev stood at the origins of Sberbank's transformation into a technology company and has done much to improve the efficiency of our organization, create new services and products, increase our customer focus and develop Sberbank's corporate culture,” said Sberbank’s President and Chairman of the Executive Board Herman Gref.

“My decision to quit the Board of Sberbank was made and agreed upon with Sberbank President Herman Gref many months ago and was based on a balance of my professional and personal priorities. Now that Sber's Strategy 2023 is being successfully implemented, it is time to announce this decision and realize it,” commented Lev Khasis on his retirement.
