Wildberries' fee for payment with Mastercard card declared unlawful

Pursuant to the court ruling, OOO Wildberries will pay the plaintiff the amount of fee previously charged “for payment with a Visa / Mastercard card”.

On August 21, the Wildberries marketplace introduced an order payment form with a separate line designed to indicate the amount of fee in case of using Visa / MasterCard cards. An individual who disagreed with the charge, filed a lawsuit, and the magistrate of judicial section No. 172 of the Orekhovo-Zuevo judicial district of the Moscow region declared unlawful the collection of the fee by the Wildberries marketplace for paying with Mastercard cards.

Pursuant to the court ruling, the owner of the Wildberries marketplace (OOO Wildberries) will pay the plaintiff the amount of fee charged earlier “for payment with a Visa / Mastercard card, as well as a fine and emotional distress damages. Inclusive of the state duty to the budget of the Moscow region, the total amount to be paid by the defendant is 915 rubles.
