The service can be used by the holders of cards issued by any Russian bank that offers a cash service at Perekrestok.

Sberbank customers can withdraw up to 5,000 rubles at a time and up to 20,000 rubles per month, without paying any fee.

“To withdraw the required amount, the buyer making a non-cash payment can tell the cashier that s/he wants to withdraw money from the card,” said Vyacheslav Tsybulnikov, vice president of Sberbank and chairman of the Moscow Bank. “The amount must be a multiple of 100 rubles and not exceed 5,000 rubles. The checkout cashier will scan the goods and type in the requested withdrawal amount. After the purchase has been paid with a card, the buyer will receive the cash.”

“We believe that cash withdrawals should be available to everyone and always. Therefore, together with our partners X5 Group, we are expanding opportunities for our clients,” said Dmitry Malykh, director of the Acquiring division of Sberbank. “To get cash, you needn’t go to the bank anymore. This can be done when paying for foodstuff at a supermarket checkout. I am sure this service will make the lives of many citizens more comfortable.”

After the project success and the demand for the service have been analyzed, a decision will be made on the launch of the cash withdrawal service in the Pyaterochka retail chain.
