As of 2025, a significant portion of Russians are skeptical about the introduction of the digital ruble. According to a VTsIOM survey, 51% of Russians are reluctant to use the digital ruble, and 40% see no advantages to digital currency over cash or non-cash money. However, as is known, new things always have some trouble in finding their way in this world. Alexey Voylukov, MBA professor of business practice in digital finance at RANEPA, PLUS Forum Program Director, editor and expert council member of The PLUS Journal, shares his opinion on this topic.
